Zirconia has established itself in modern dental technology as one of the preferred materials for the production of dental restorations. The use of zirconia in dentistry offers numerous advantages, including its high strength, biocompatibility and esthetic properties.

Using computer-controlled milling technology, precisely milled blanks from zirconia are produced. After milling, the blanks are fired in a sintering furnace at extremely high temperatures to achieve their final strength and durability. This step is crucial to ensure that restorations meet the standards required for long-lasting effechts for our patients.

Another important aspect in the processing of zirconia is the individualization of the restorations to ensure an optimal fit and esthetic. This includes color shaping and surface finishing to achieve natural dental esthetics.

A deep dive into zirconia:

  • Biocompatible: Zirconia is biologically inert and therefore very compatible with human tissue
  • Esthetic: Zirconia can be produced in different colours and degrees of transparency, which allows restorations to be optimally adapted to the natural tooth colour. This results in an esthetically pleasing oucome that fits seamlessly into the rest of the patient’s teeth
  • Durability: Due to its high strength and resistance to abrasion and fatigue, zirconia provides excellent long-term stability. The resulting restorations usually last for many years, leading to long-term patient satisfaction

All in all, the unique properties of zirconia make it an outstanding material for dental restorations that meets both esthetic and functional requirements.
